It's time to send a clear message: Social Security belongs to the American people who EARNED these benefits through decades of work. This essential program is not up for grabs by wealthy interests who've never had to worry about retirement security or disability support.

Musk or Us — Congressional Recess Actions (Indivisible)

  • Google Calendar ICS

“Recess weeks (officially called a District Work Period for the House of Representatives and a State Work Period for the Senate) are periods throughout the year where Members of Congress (MoCs) return home to meet with their constituents. They’re supposed to be periods for public events, but increasingly, MoCs are going out of their way to avoid the public spotlight.“

No DOGE Blank Check Federal Funding CR (5Calls)

No DOGE Blank Check Federal Funding CR (5Calls)

5Calls is organizing to stop passage of the Republican continuing spending resolution that seeks to defund the government. To come to the floor it needs Democratic votes—you can use 5Calls to tell your senators to vote NO on bringing it to the floor. If the government shuts down it will be because Republicans threatened to stop funding critical programs.

Click here NOW to learn more and make your calls.

Senate Republicans are playing chicken with their Democratic colleagues by teeing up a Friday vote for the House passed CR. Democrats should vote NO on cloture for this legislation and demand the GOP negotiate for a clean CR.

Economic Blackout Day (independently organized action)

Various organizations and activists have called for an Economic Blackout Day on February 28 to signal support for women, minorities, LGBTQ people and others targeted by the Republicans in Washington. Some large retail corporations have made clear they will follow Republican directives to withdraw support for those groups in their staffing.

Donuts & Democracy!

Right NOW is when the rubber hits the road, and your participation will make the difference! Can you help us build our neighborhood canvassing teams, so we can knock on every Democratic and unaffiliated voter's door between now and early voting?

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 (that's tomorrow)

  • 10AM-1PM, Munger Cottage

  • We'll provide the walking lists, training, and campaign materials. And coffee and donuts.

  • Smart phones helpful for use with our canvassing app, but not required.

  • Please contact Lynn Peebles, lynnpeebles@gmail.com, 646-346-4982 to let us know you're coming.

Can you join us? This is how Democrats win. For the past two and a half years, Cornwall's Democrats have been getting Fired UP! and telling our stories. Through revitalized campaigns for Town, County, State and National seats, you have been there—for the wins and the losses. Well this year it's going to pay off. With all of us working together.

Email Lynn to say you'll join us! Many hands make light work—the more who say YES, the fewer individual doors each person has to knock on.

This year, 2019, is Cornwall's chance to firmly place Democratic leadership in control of the Town Board. And you are essential to the effort. Please join us, and tell Lynn Peebles you'll be at Munger Cottage on Saturday.
